Here
a few very basic but extremely helpful tips
REMEMBER:
Only use a white towel to blot any spill
General
Spills
If you have to clean up a spill, grab a white towel and place it
over the spill and walk on it to promote absorption, repeat as needed.
Then mix white vinegar 50/50 with cool water, enough to rinse the
area a few times. Between rinses use more towelling. The vinegar
helps to combat the spill from setting in and becoming a stain.
So simple yet in many cases this will help immensely.
Rust
Rust marks from a chair leg with a metal base are quite unsightly,
so hopefully this will help you. The lemon juice you can buy in
most grocery stores has quite an acidic level, and it's this acid
that can help remove the rust mark. Take the lemon juice and drip
some on the rust spot, place your finger on the area and gently
massage. Let this sit for 5 minutes . Return with a white towel
and blot by gently rubbing the towel on the rust. Repeat if necessary.
Pets
Your pet can leave you cleaning up a mess sometimes, so how quickly
you react can save a lot of trouble. If your pet wet the carpet,
grab a white towel and soak up the area by standing on the towel.
Repeat a few times to absorb as much as possible. Then mix white
vinegar 50/50 with cool water, enough to rinse the area a few times.
Between rinses use more towelling.
The vinegar not only rinses your carpet but combats the acid that
in urine so you can reduce the risk of discolouration. So simple
yet in many cases this will help immensely.

Maintenance
Vacuuming regularly keeps your home looking fresh and clean, and
it also combats wear. Generally people vacuum the carpets because
they see that it is needed, but it's what we can't see that could
be harming your carpets fibers. When soil falls deep down into the
carpet fibers and sits there, it cuts the fibers each and every
time you walk on it. Your health is also a major reason for regular
vacuuming, the more dust and bacterial matter that you remove, the
less the chance it can cause you a problem
